Micosoft Making Open Source Web Content Security

Microsoft has made the source code for the project Live Labs Web Sandbox to secure web content via open source under the Apache License 2.0. It is delivered by Microsoft Port 25 site. Web Sandbox features technology used to process web content insulation, protection services and security.


Web Sandbox features used to overcome problems arising from the gadget web, component mix, advertising and the content of external websites that still runs with the extra protection or isolation in an iframe.

Since announced its Web Sandbox technology event in the PDC 2008 (Professional Developer Conference) in Los Angeles, October ago, Microsoft has made open source framework from the Web Sandbox and working with industry leaders to develop Web solutions in the Sandbox to the industry. Microsoft is also looking for developers to experiment with Web Sandbox, including making a sample so that developers can disassemble in the Sandbox.

"Since the release Web Sandbox, we have received feedback from the community a new web security. We also collaborate with several customers, partnet, an d that the community will adopt this technology when it is ready. Our goal is to expand the Web Sandbox technology adoption and to help with the technology adopted interoperability script framework. "Said the Microsoft Live Labs Web Sandbox page".

Although Microsoft uses the Apache license for the Web Sandbox project, but not directly sponsored by the Apache Software Foundation. Web Sandbox is built with DHTML, Windows, Windows Live Web, and Microsoft BrowserShield project, which uses virtualization JavaScript.
